This will be your year of complete restoration and renewal in Jesus mighty name!
As we settle into our routines and daily activities and goals for this year let us not forget to also make sure we concentrate on things that not only matter now in our physical world, but also for eternity. Any way you look at it, the business of our heavenly Father is what matters most and he requires us to do it with haste, as we only have a limited time on earth. Our aim should be to receive our full reward in Heaven.
Here are some thoughts on how we can redirect our focus on things eternal this year:
1. Make Good Use of Your Time
Put the use of your time in the will of God.
Keep in mind that your life here is in preparation for your life in eternity. As women there are so many things that we do on a daily basis. Do some things we do, need to be eliminated or reduced to make better use of our time for more relevant things? Your time is your life and you can never get it back again, so use it wisely.
2. Make Better Choices
When making decisions, especially with regard to your gifts, talents, marriage, home, career or finances; are they only made with the physical rewards in mind or have you thought about the spiritual implications as well?
3. Learn to Live Unselfishly
The early believers had strong faith that Jesus was coming soon. They were concerned that they used their time in making a difference in the lives of people and they concentrated on things with lasting value. Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:5 (NLT) “Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.”
4. We Will Receive Eternal Rewards
We will one-day face judgment regarding his works or the lack thereof 1Corinthians 3:11-15 (NLT). The works we did with pure motives will endure, and the ones we did for any other reason will be burned up. In other words, if they have eternal value, they will go with us and we will be rewarded, but if not, we lose the reward, although we still go to heaven. Knowing this should give us a greater desire to make every day count!
In conclusion, Ephesians 5:15 (NLT) says, “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise”
In other words, look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise ,sensible and intelligent people.
Dear sisters are you living carefully? Are you clinging to attitudes and character traits that God doesn’t approve of? Are you using your time wisely or wasting your time living selfishly instead of loving and serving others?
God gives our lives meaning, so let’s actively pursue those things of God now. Let’s be about His Kingdom business, and we will surely receive His eternal reward in Jesus name!
