Dearly Beloved Sisters,
I greet you in the name of Jesus. Welcome to a glorious year ahead! May this year bring you much closer to God and his desired plan for your lives so that you are fulfilled.
As women of God, whether you are, single, married or widowed, a worker, a departmental leader, Pastor’s wife or Female minister, I want to applaud all of you for the work you do in your homes and for the Kingdom of God. It shall not be in vain in Jesus name –1 Corinthians 15:58
God has truly given you and, all women, a special grace to accomplish many things in life, particularly in your secular and spiritual lives. For this we should all be grateful. But in all your accomplishments please remember to enjoy the journey or take time to smell the roses (as the saying goes). You only live once.
Are you enjoying your life? And by this, I mean truly enjoying each day God gives you? Are your circumstances weighing you down and preventing you from relaxing and having fun? Please seriously think about this.
Beloved Sister, God wants us to enjoy our lives right now, regardless of whatever else is happening. In John 10:10 Jesus says, “ The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance ( to the full, till it overflows). Jesus came that you and I may enjoy our lives – it’s really that simple!
How can you enjoy life more? Consider watching a funny movie, taking in the sunshine, participating in your hobbies etc. I know we all have obligations and many things to do on a daily basis (sometimes it can be really crazy busy, believe me I know!) but remember to add some flavor to your life by doing some things you enjoy. Need more suggestions? Here are 5 things you can do
- Identify what you enjoy doing
Here’s a question: What do you do for fun? Are you so busy and burdened that you stopped having fun a long time ago? Please take a few minutes to identify what is fun for you and let yourself enjoy it!
- Don’t wait on “when”
Life should be viewed as an adventure and not a good or bad day. Don’t wait and think you’ll enjoy life when you go on vacation, when you lose weight, when the children are older or when you get that promotion. Allow the Holy Spirit to direct your steps each day and life will be an adventure.
- Schedule time to do what you enjoy
No matter how busy you might be, take the time to schedule something fun and put it on your calendar NOW.
- Relish the little things
We usually have no problem enjoying big announcements and events but forget the little things. Sometimes it’s the little things that can bring us the most joy – a baby’s laugh, a delicious dinner, singing or listening to music etc.
- Include God in everything
We must remember that true joy begins by having a personal relationship with Jesus. John 15:11 (AMP) says – “ I have told you these things so that my joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.” We must learn trust Jesus and abide in him because this is the key to living with joy. If we abide in Him, we can experience His presence with us in everything that we do. When we do this, our everyday lives (including the mundane) become really enjoyable!
As you abide in Jesus and practice these steps, may you begin to enjoy your life more from now onwards in Jesus name!
